Mysterious but charismatic front man KHALIQ was born in the West Midlands. He remembers fondly the deep tenors of his fathers voice resonating songs of home around their terraced house. Bedroom walls breathing Zeppelin, Free, Stones and the Beatles. KHALIQ attributes their styles to the beginning of his very unique approach to music making.
Influenced by many genres of music, KHALIQ has an obvious long standing affair with the singer songwriter. Past unreleased but much acclaimed Asian Man album for Factory Too Records, saw him hailed as the new Bob Dylan. “Meeting and becoming friends with the likes of Tony Wilson/Derek Ryder, Happy Mondays, Mani(Stone Roses), Primal Scream,Ocean Colour Scene, has been inspirational for me.
